Boy hit by ambulance in Bath

A 10-year-old boy is in a stable condition in hospital after suffering a "significant head injury" having been hit by an ambulance on its way to a 999 call in the centre of Bath this afternoon.

Accident in Bath involving a vehicle and pedestrian

Bath and North East Somerset Council say London Road in Bath is closed because of a serious accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. It's likely to be closed for three hours.

Please be aware there is an Emergency Road Closure on London Road, Bath. This is in both directions at Snow Hill to the Esso Garage. Reason – serious collision between a vehicle and pedestrian. This road is likely to be closed for three hours. Signage is being provided for the closure by the Council. This will result in large volumes of traffic going onto other routes.

The Council will be monitoring traffic flows and making adjustments to signal timings in order to keep traffic moving as much as possible.
