Syrian state TV has said that 42 people have been killed and 84 wounded, including the high-level cleric Mohammed al-Buti's grandson in a Damascus blast today, the Associated Press is reporting.
Syrian TV says at least 14 people have been killed and more than 40 wounded in a suicide bombing in a mosque in the capital Damascus.
Among the dead is thought to be the high-level cleric Mohammed al-Buti, who is a staunch supporter of President Assad.
Buti, believed to be in his 90s, was a staunch supporter of President Bashar al-Assad and the Imam of Damascus's historic Ummayyad Mosque.
