Muslims in the US state of Virginia have been left angered and upset after Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was buried in a Muslim cemetery near the city of Richmond.

Governor: Three suspects 'had no role in bombings'

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick said he has been told that the three suspects arrested had no role in the bombings but were charged for crimes after the marathon, according to the Boston Globe.

The Governor added that the three suspects would be arraigned later today, the newspaper added.

Two arrested in Boston bombing case 'from Kazakhstan'

Two of the three people taken into custody in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings are citizens of Kazakhstan, a law enforcement source told Reuters.

The third person taken into custody is believed to be a US citizen and all three were being investigated for actions taken after the April 15 bombings, the news agency added.

It was reported that the two Kazakhstan citizens had previously been held by US immigration officials on suspicion of violating terms of their visas.

All three are believed to have been college classmates of bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Classmates 'threw away knapsack at Dzhokhar's request'

A law enforcement source has told Reuters that two people in custody in the Boston Marathon bombing case were college classmates of Dzokhar Tsarnaev, and could face criminal charges.

The source also told the news agency that the third person in custody is a US citizen, and that authorities are investigating whether classmates through away some kind of knapsack at the request of Tsarnaev.
