Farage 'will stand in 2015'

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has confirmed that he will stand for parliament in the 2015 general election. He added that his party was "not some little pressure group that will go away."

UKIP family celebrates triple election success

Three members of the same family have won seats in the county council elections for UKIP.

Sue Ransome, 61, and her daughters Felicity, 27, and Elizabeth, 26, won their seats in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Her husband Don and daughter Jodie Sutton, 36, also stood but came second.

Sue told ITV News that the family's success in the elections was "fantastic."

Conservative Party holds Surrey County Council

The Conservative Party has held Surrey County Council with 58 seats - three more than the party won at the last local election in 2009.

While the Liberal Democrats lost four seats, UKIP jumped from one seat to three, winning around a third of the votes in some parts of the county.

  • UKIP - 3

The local election in Surrey had a 30 percent turnout, the county council said.
