A recording of the phone call between emergency services has been released after an apparent suicide attempt by the daughter of Michael Jackson.

Emergency call reaveals Paris Jackson overdose

Audio released by emergency services in the United States reveals that Michael Jackson's 15-year-old daughter, Paris, had taken an overdose and cut her arm with a kitchen knife when they were called.

The details come in transmissions between dispatchers for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the LA Fire Department.

The call on June 5th describes how the teenager had taken 20 Motrin pills but was conscious before she was taken to hospital.

A lawyer for Paris Jackson's grandmother Katherine has issued the following statement:

Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy.

Police: Paris Jackson received 'medical treatment'

Paris Jackson received "medical treatment" at her Los Angeles home today at 1.27am local time (9.27am BST), according to a statement from the sheriff's department.

She was then taken to hospital, the statement added.

On Wednesday, June 5, at 1:27AM PT/4:27am ET, Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and Los Angeles County Firefighters responded to a medical situation on Prada de la Felicidad in Calabasas.

As a result, medical treatment was provided to a patient, who was transported to a hospital. Privacy laws do not permit providing further details.
