The master boatbuilder whose team created the million pound Gloriana rowbarge that led the Jubilee river pageant has been awarded an MBE for services to boatbuilding, heritage and the 2012 Diamond Jubilee.
Mark Edwards, who has been building boats for more than 40 years, said he was incredibly proud to be commended. He said:
"The Gloriana was a fantastic project and it's brilliant to get the honour. For the last 20 years I've built lots of rowing boats. So during the celebration I had the Gloriana at the front and 40 other rowing boats there, so I was obviously very proud."
Former ITV News newsreader Julia Somerville has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
The 65-year-old, who was a regular face on nightly news bulletins for almost three decades, was commended for her work chairing the Advisory Committee on the Government Art Collection.
- Knighthoods - Men are styled "Sir" and women "Dame" and are honoured "for having a major contribution in any activity, usually at national level."
- CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) - Awarded for a "prominent but lesser role [than those awarded knighthoods] at national level."
- OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) - Awarded for "having a major local role in any activity."
- MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) - Awarded for "a significant achievement or outstanding service to the community."
Daybreak presenter Aled Jones has said he was "delighted" and "deeply honoured" to be awarded an MBE for services to music and broadcasting.
The former choirboy and father of two said: "I've been really lucky to have worked with amazing people during my time in the music and TV industry, and now have the privilege to wake the nation up on Daybreak every morning."
It was a cunning plan that even Baldrick could not have imagined, but Tony Robinson is knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours List - while his boss Blackadder, Rowan Atkinson, becomes a CBE.
Sir Tony Robinson, who received the knighthood for public and political service, vowed: "I pledge that from this day on I'll slaughter all unruly dragons, and rescue any damsels in distress who request my help."
Mr Atkinson said of his CBE: "It came as a genuine surprise and is a great honour."
Comedian and actor Rob Brydon has been recognised for his services to comedy and broadcasting with an MBE.
The Gavin and Stacey star said: "This is a great honour and an even greater surprise. I accept it not just for me but for short Welshmen everywhere."
The accolade comes a year after he was one of the hosts for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert outside Buckingham Palace.
Sculptor Anish Kapoor said he was honoured and humbled to be awarded a knighthood in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours.
The sculpture, who is responsible for designing the Olympic tower thanked the many people who helped him during his career. In a statement, he said:
"I am honoured and humbled to receive this honour and I want to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have helped me during my career.
"I would like to thank them all for making it possible."
Rowan Atkinson has been awarded with a CBE at this year's Queen's Birthday Honours list.
The Blackadder actor and star of last year's Olympic opening ceremony has been commended for his services to drama and charity.
Atkinson said the honour "came as a genuine surprise."
Sports presenter Clare Balding has been awarded an OBE for services to broadcasting and journalism.
Balding was recently awarded a BAFTA for outstanding achievement in factual presenting in recognition of her widely-praised Olympic coverage.
She said today: "It has been a year of unexpected delights. This is the pinnacle."
