Missing schoolgirl found safe

A schoolgirl who went missing in woodland has been found safe and well, police said. Rosie James went missing from Highgate Wood at around 2pm on Friday afternoon and police said the disappearance was "completely out of character."

A nine-year-old girl from north London missing earlier today has been found, police said.

Rosie James went missing from Highgate Wood at around 2pm on Friday afternoon and police said the disappearance was "completely out of character."

But police said the girl was found by a member of the public this evening and would be reunited with her family.

A police spokesman said the girl's brief disappearance would not be the subject of a criminal investigation.

Missing Rosie Jones disappearance 'out of character'

A police statement said that missing Rosie James, 9, went missing after leaving her mother in Highgate Woods, north London.

Rosie James of Hornsey was last seen in Highgate Woods at approximately 1355hrs on Friday, 26 July.

She was in the woods with her mother, and left to meet another friend of roughly the same age nearby, but they did not meet up.

Her disappearance is out of character. If anyone has information they are asked to contact police urgently on 101, quoting CAD 6415

The girl went missing from Highgate Wood at around 2pm on Friday afternoon and police say the disappearance is "completely out of character."

She is black / mixed race, 4'10" and had her hair tied in a pony tail, police added.
