The two men accused of murdering soldier Lee Rigby in Woolwich, south London, will go on trial on 18th November. Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale have both denied the charge.

The widow of soldier Lee Rigby broke down in tears as two men denied his murder.

Rebecca Rigby watched tearfully as Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22, appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink.

Both wearing red T-shirts and pale trousers, they appeared from separate rooms for today's hearing.

Woolwich suspect accused of attempted murder

One of two men accused of murdering soldier Lee Rigby is also suspected of the attempted murder of two police officers and possession of a firearm, as the pair are due to appear in court today.

Michael Adebolajo, 28, from Romford in Essex is charged with killing Fusilier Rigby as he returned to the Woolwich barracks in south east London on May 22.

Adebolajo has asked to be known as Mujaahid Abu Hamza in court.

Michael Adebolajo, 28, from Romford, Essex, and Michael Adebowale, 22, from Greenwich, south-east London, are charged with killing Fusilier Rigby as he returned to Woolwich barracks in south-east London on May 22.

The father of one died from multiple cut and stab wounds when he was attacked in Artillery Place.

Adebolajo and Adebowale are expected to appear via videolink at the Old Bailey today for a plea and case management hearing, and a preparatory hearing.
