Carol Vorderman revealed she was preparing herself for an emotional night at the Pride of Britain awards. Speaking to ITV News on the red carpet before the show she said:
"Malala receives an award tonight, but there are many many awards to be given. We were in rehearsal today and I went a few times I have to say."

ITV News presenter Mark Austin has presented Hillsborough campaigner Margaret Aspinall with a special Pride of Britain award in recognition of her 25-year fight for justice for her family and the families of those who died in the Hillsborough disaster.
Coming on stage to a standing ovation along with Kenny Daglish, John Bishop, Jamie Carragher and John Barnes, she said her award was about the pride of Merseyside and thanked the people of Liverpool for supporting the families during their long search for the truth.
