The men were only identified as AB and as CD at Westminster Magistrates' Court and both were charged under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 - namely possession of a computer file including information on bomb making.

The first man - AB - was also charged with preparing a terrorist act and the second man - CD - was also charged with possession of a false passport.

The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested on Mansell Street, near the Tower of London, on October 13.

Both men will next appear in custody at the Old Bailey on November 18.

Two men charged with terror offences are expected to appear in court today.

A 25-year-old British national of Turkish origin will appear charged with preparing a terrorist act contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

He has also been charged with making or possessing a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

The second man, a British national of Algerian origin, also 25, has been charged under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and with possession of false identity documents with improper intention contrary to the Identity Documents Act 2010.

Both men will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court in west London after they were arrested on October 13.

Police: Two men charged with terror offences in London

The Metropolitan Police have charged two men who were arrested in London last weekend with terrorism offences.

A 25-year-old man was charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Another 25-year-old man was charged under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and Section 4 of the Identity Documents Act 2010.

Both men will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.
