Ronaldo hat-trick puts Portugal through to World Cup

A hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo has put Portugal through to the World Cup finals at the expense of Sweden.

Portugal won an exciting match 3-2 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate.

France came from behind to qualify against Ukraine.

They were trailing 2-0 after the first leg and drew level after goals from Mamadou Sakho and Karim Benzema.

And they went through 3-2 on aggregate after an own goal from Ukraine defender Oleg Gusev in the 74th minute.

In the other play-off results tonight:

Greece drew 1-1 with Romania to qualify 4-2 on aggregate.

And Croatia beat Iceland 2-0 tonight to qualify 2-0 on aggregate.
