'12 Years A Slave' wins Best Film at Bafta Awards

'12 Years A Slave', directed by Steve McQueen, won Best Film at the 2014 British Academy Film Awards. The film's star, Chiwetel Ejiofor, also won the award for Leading Actor.

Steve McQueen, the director of 12 Years a Slave, has arrived on the red carpet ahead of the Baftas.

The film, which stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as a free man kidnapped and sold into slavery in America's deep south, has 10 nominations including for best film and best director.

He told ITV News: "We couldn't have wished for more. It's one of those times in life when you think 'my goodness, wow."
