Woman arrested for 'conspiring to commit murder' after Pennie Davis death

A 28-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder following the death of Pennie Davis in the New Forest.

Davis, a 47-year-old mother of five, was stabbed multiple times in a paddock near Leygreen Farm, north of Beaulieu, as she tended to her horses on September 2.

Hampshire Police also said officers have been granted more time to question a 36-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail until November 3rd.

More time to question man over New Forest murder

Police have been given more time to question a 22-year-old man on suspicion of the murder a woman who was found stabbed to death in a paddock as she tended to her horses.

Two men and a woman were arrested in connection with the murder of 47-year-old Pennie Davis, who was found by her husband in a field in the New Forest near Beaulieu, Hampshire, on 2 September.

Magistrates granted detectives a further 24 hours to continue questioning the man held on suspicion of murder.

A 37-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been bailed until 23 October and a 24-year-old woman also remains in custody.

Pennie Davis' 18-year-old daughter Georgia has left a heartfelt note for her mother at a paddock near where her body was found.

Dearest mum, you were a goddess. I swear I'll make you proud. I like to think you're sitting there, watching on a cloud. You had so much more to give. You had so much more to do.

One arrested on suspicion of murder of Hampshire woman

Police have arrested three people in connection with the murder of Pennie Davis in the New Forest.

One person has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

One has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and the other has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They remain in custody and the family have been informed.

The body of 47 year old Pennie Davies was found in a field in Beaulieu on Tuesday afternoon. She had been stabbed. She had worked at the Southern Daily Echo in Southampton.

Police continue to increase patrols in the area to offer reassurance.

Pennie had been attacked in the field by an as yet unknown assailant or assailants. She suffered multiple stab wounds.

Officers are today searching the shallow river that runs alongside the paddock as part of a wider search for the weapon.

Police believe tourists, commuters, walkers and people out fishing in a nearby river may have seen something important and urged them to get in contact.

Police appeal after body found in New Forest

Police are treating the death of a woman whose body was discovered in New Forest yesterday afternoon as suspicious. Police said it appears she was tending her horse prior to her death.

Detective Superintendent Paul Barton, leading the investigation,said:

We are treating the discovery of a woman's body in Beaulieu as murder.

I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area of Lyndhurst Road, Beaulieu yesterday, Tuesday 2nd September between 2pm and 5pm to contact us.
