Bobby Brown released from jail after eight hours
Singer Bobby Brown has been released from jail after serving less than a day of his 55-day jail sentence for a driving under the influence conviction, the Associated Press reported.
A sheriff's spokesman said the 44 year old was released eight hours after handing himself in to authorities and fitted with an ankle monitoring bracelet due to jail overcrowding and good behaviour.
A spokeswoman for Brown, ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston, said he is now at home with his family.
The conviction is Brown's second for DUI in less than a year. He avoided jail after pleading no contest to a March 2012 drink-driving case.
