French court clears Continental of Concorde crash

A French appeals court has cleared American airline Continental of responsibility for a Concorde jet crash in 2000 which killed 113 people.

The ruling on the accident comes two years after a different French court held the airline criminally responsible for the cause of the crash after take-off in Paris in July 2000.

Investigators had said a small metal strip had been found on the runway from a Continental aircraft moments before it took off from the French capital.

Continental launched an appeal against the court's initial decision.
