Odds of 66/1 on Bond to win elusive Best Film Oscar
Before the nominations are even announced William Hill has put odds of 66/1 on the latest Bond film to win the Best Picture Award for the first time in its 50 year history.
Spokesman Rupert Adams said, “Bond is the longest running movie franchise in history and Skyfall the most successful in that 23 film series, you have to think it has a chance of delivering the big one."
But despite optimism about Skyfall's chances it is still trailing Stephen Spielberg's Lincoln - 10/11, Les Miserables - 9/4 , and Life of Pi - 20/1. The British spy lags with odds of 66/1.
Skyfall becomes the UK's highest earning film ever
James Bond hit Skyfall has become the highest grossing film ever at the UK box office.
In just 40 days it has taken £94.28 million to surpass the previous record-holder Avatar.
James Cameron's Avatar took £94.03 million over an 11-month period following its release in late 2009.
The James Bond movie series celebrated a milestone this year with the 50th anniversary of the first Bond movie Dr No in October.
