Backbench MP Dennis Skinner has defended his decision to sit for an official portrait. Mr Skinner said the artist commissioned to paint the portrait would have been out of work if he had not agreed to it.
Mr Skinner added that he thought the cost was justified as he thought his picture, "was very cheap."
Labour MP Dennis Skinner has hit out at the praise given to former BBC Director-General George Entwistle from the BBC Trust chairman Lord Patten. He said:
"What type bravery and courage does it take to leave office with a million quid?"
