Centenary of suffragette's death marked at Epsom

The centenary of the death of suffragette Emily Davison, who threw herself in front of the King's horse at the 1913 Epsom Derby in her push for women's right to vote, has been marked with a new plaque at the racecourse.

The plaque has been attached to fencing at Tattenham Corner at Epson Downs Racecourse ahead of today's Derby.
Davison's ultimately fatal act shocked the nation but saw her hailed as a heroine among the suffragette's movement.
