Celebrity couple Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are suing the publishers of Heat magazine.
The pair, who have been married for two years, have each lodged a separate defamation claim against Bauer Media Group in the High Court in Dublin, Ireland.
The action against the German company relates to an article, photographs and quotes attributed to Biel which were published in September.
It is understood the action is being taken in Dublin as the weekly celebrity magazine is sold in Ireland as well as across Europe.
Lawyer Paul Tweed, who is acting on behalf of the couple, confirmed the papers had been lodged but it could take more than a year for the case to be heard in court.
Timberlake told the magazine "it was a really special evening," and Biel said "it was a total fantasy experience".
