A British woman has been murdered on a houseboat in Kashmir, according to the British High Commission in Delhi.
A police source told ITV News that 24-year-old Sarah Groves was found in a pool of blood in her room on Dal Lake in Srinagar this morning.
A Dutch national has been arrested after reportedly leaving his belongings behind. Her body has been taken for forensic examination.

A Dutch tourist has been arrested by Indian police for suspected murder after a British woman was found dead on a houseboat in India's Kashmir, local police said today.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Afadul Mujtaba told Reuters: "The English lady had been living for quite sometime here, I think for about a month and the Dutch tourist has arrived here two days back.
"But we have found on spot is, that there are injuries caused to the lady and the cabin, which had been locked from inside has been broken and the Dutch tourist had escaped from this place leaving behind all his belongings.
"While he was trying to cross, the boat in which he was travelling had capsized [...] he had reached Tourist Reception Centre from where he has taken a taxi and was trying to flee and was apprehended from Qazigund by the police", he added.

A Dutch national who had been staying in a neighbouring boat has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.
Dal Lake is a popular tourist destination in Kashmir and many tourists stay on the houseboats moored around the lake.
Media reports in India said the British woman was found murdered on a houseboat on Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir.
The lake is home to a large collection of houseboats.
Police said a Dutch national was being held after a British woman was found murdered in Kashmir.
"The Dutch national had fled from the houseboat in the night, leaving behind his belongings," police said.
"He was trying to flee from the Valley, carrying only his passport. We flashed an alert for his arrest."
Police said the man was held at Qazigund in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
A police source told ITV News that the British woman was found in a pool of blood in her room on a houseboat this morning.
"While preliminary investigation has confirmed that the 24-year-old woman was murdered, we are investigating other angles," a police source told ITV News.
"Forensic evidence is being collected."
