Reaction to Ken Livingstone's defeat

Len Duvall, the leader of the Labour group on the London Assembly, said he was "disappointed" at Mr Livingstone's defeat.

Labour has made significant gains on the London Assembly, unseating some of Boris' key lieutenants and came close to removing two more.

The Labour group on the London Assembly will scrutinise the Mayor and highlight his failing policies and his total lack of vision for our great city. If he thinks he can coast along for the next four years he is in for a rude awakening.

  • William Hague - 13%
  • Boris Johnson - 12%
  • Ken Clarke - 8%
  • Theresa May - 3%
  • George Osborne - 1%

'Boris Johnson more trusted as an economic leader than George Osborne'

More people say they have trust in Boris Johnson (23%) to see the country through the current economic climate than say the same about George Osborne (19%), Ed Miliband (17%), Nick Clegg (15%) or Ed Balls (15%).

Mr Johnson had the most confidence among 18 to 24 year olds, and those over 65.

The recent announcement that the UK has returned to recession saw a drop in confidence in the economic leadership of David Cameron, George Osborne, Nick Clegg, Ed Miliband and Ed Balls.
