A taxi driver has been caught out watching a football match on his phone during a journey and overcharging passengers. The driver in Loughborough - who has not been named - picked up two undercover council officers from the train station.
They were stunned when the driver put his mobile on the dashboard and tuned in to watch the match. He also got the fare wrong and asked them for too much money. The driver received nine penalty points on his taxi operator licence.
Daniel Mansell, who is 33, today pleaded guilty at Loughborough Magistrates' Court to a burglary which led to the arrest of Andy and Tracey Ferrie after they opened fire on intruders. He was remanded in custody for sentencing at Leicester Crown Court on September 25.
