Table-dancing MP breaks foot after fall in Soho bar

Immigration Minister Mark Harper has broken his foot after some impromptu table-top dancing in a Soho bar.

A spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the 43-year-old had suffered the injury and his foot is in a cast.

Mr Harper is quoted as saying: "My wife Margaret was with me but thankfully she's a far better dancer so didn't fall off".

Press Association reporter Tim Sculthorpe tweeted on Monday: "Mark Harper on crutches. Hobbled into the Commons with a massive cast on his left foot".

Immigration Minister: The UK is not a 'free for all'

Immigration Minister Mark Harper has told Daybreak that access to the UK is not a "free for all for everybody."

Speaking about David Cameron's forthcoming speech on immigration plans, he said: "Free movement within the European Union isn't unqualified", he added, it is for people who "don't require money from the taxpayer."
