Man arrested over Northern Ireland PC murder

Anti-terror police have arrested a 22-year-old man in Milton Keynes in connection with the murder of PC Ronan Kerr in Northern Ireland last April and other incidents.

The arrest by officers from the North West counter terror unit earlier today searched addresses in Cumbria on behalf of their PSNI colleagues.

According to Thames Valley Police, one of the victims, a 23-year-old man from the West Midlands area, remains in Milton Keynes General Hospital with a punctured lung. Another, a 24-year-old man, also from the West Midlands, received a cut to his head and arm but has been discharged from hospital.

A 23-year-old man was treated for minor injuries by St John Ambulance crew. Police say it appeared to be an isolated incident. They want to speak to a man described as white, aged in his early 20s, wearing a blue Nike T-shirt, a black jacket and black jogging bottoms in connection with the assault.
