The advice from both the Foreign Office remains unchanged and advises customers against all but essential air travel to Sharm El Sheikh Airport.
Monarch has taken this proactive decision to allow our customers to make alternative holiday plans as soon as possible.
Customers who are affected by these cancellations are entitled to change a booking to a later date or rebook to another destination on the Monarch network. Customers can also request a credit note towards future travel or a refund.
Monarch Airlines has announced it will get rid of reclining seats, which it says will give passengers more room.
The decision follows a number of surveys which found the overwhelming majority of those asked said they would like to see reclining seats on shorter haul flights either abolished or used only to set times.
Monarch said its "newly designed non-reclining ergonomic aircraft seats" will also reduce fuel emissions, and it hoped the move would promote greater harmony on their flights by ending passenger squabbles about personal space the reclining structure causes.
Director of customer experience Tim Williamson said:
"The new non-reclining design gives our customers far more 'living space' than traditional seats, without the fear of the person in front impinging on their personal space."
