Police: 2 dead and 2 critical after Nevada shooting

Two people have died in a shooting at Sparks Middle School in the US state of Nevada, local police have told the Associated Press.

Washoe County School District Police could not confirm the pair's identities but said one of them was the shooter.

Two boys, both minors, are in a critical condition in Renown Regional Hospital with apparent gunshot wounds, the hospital's spokeswoman Angela Rambo said.

The governor of Nevada, Brian Sandoval, has issued a message on Twitter in response to the shootings at a school in the city of Sparks, which have wounded at least four people.

Washoe County Emergency Manager Aaron Kenneston said he could not immediately say whether any of those were fatalities or give further information about their identities.
