People enjoy sunshine and warm weather in England

Photos have captured people in the north of England enjoying the sunshine.

Warm sunshine is set to continue for most across England, with temperatures expected to reach highs of 28C in the south.

Man found stabbed to death after house party fight

A murder investigation is under way after a man was found stabbed to death following reports of a fight at a house party.

Police were called to Burn Closes Crescent in Wallsend, North Tyneside, shortly before 2am today, where they found a 25-year-old man in the street with a stab wound.

He was rushed to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he was declared dead, Northumbria Police said.

Detectives believe the man, who has not been named, was at a house party in the street and was involved in a fight with a number of people.

Several people have been arrested in connection with his death.

Anyone with information about the death or a disturbance in Burn Closes Crescent is asked to contact police by calling 101.

Police inquiries at the scene are ongoing and a cordon is in place on the street.

A murder investigation has been launched and additional police patrols are under way to aid the investigation and to reassure local residents.

Two arrested over shooting 'linked to organised crime'

Police investigating the shooting of a man in a pub car park have made two arrests and believe the attack was linked to organised crime.

The shooting is not being treated as a random attack and at this stage it is being linked to organised criminality.Police patrols have been increased in the area to reassure the local community.

The 54-year-old is believed to have been shot in the back by two men as he got out of his car at the Six Mile Bridge Inn, in Seaton Burn, North Tyneside just after 4pm yesterday. The pair fled in a white van towards the A19.

The shot man was left with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening. Northumbria Police said they had made two arrests, and were not ruling out the possibility of more.
