Some homes in the North East and Yorkshire are still without power as parts of Britain woke up to freezing temperatures.
Around 90,000 homes across northern England suffered power cuts since the bad weather arrived on Tuesday afternoon.
Between six and eight inches of snow fell in high parts of the Peak District, Pennines and Cumbria overnight.
Northern Powergrid has set up a helpline for people affected by the power cuts in Northumberland and Cumbria. The 24-hour number is 0800 668877.
The areas most affected by the power cuts in the North of England are: north of Newcastle, Morpeth, north Northumberland and the Cumbria border stretching towards Carlisle.
