Reward offered to help catch killer

£10,000 is being offered as a reward by Crimestoppers for information that leads police to the killer of 75 year old Mohammed Saleem.

He was fatally stabbed as he walked home from the Green Lane Mosque in Small Heath, Birmingham just before 10.30pm on Monday 29th April.

CCTV released from night of Birmingham stabbing

West Midlands Police have released two sets of CCTV footage from around the time when a 75-year-old man was attacked and stabbed to death in Small Heath, Birmingham on Monday night.

Mohammed Saleem Chaudhry was stabbed three times in the back as he walked home from a mosque.

The first piece of CCTV footage, shown in the video below, shows a white male, wearing a distinctive beanie hat, running away from the scene towards Wyndcliff Road. A second CCTV video shows a seven seater people carrier type vehicle driving close to the scene.

The daughters of Mr Saleem spoke today at a police press conference.

Nazia Maqsood said: "It is extremely difficult for us to accept the brutality that was inflicted on our beloved father and grandfather who will be deeply missed."

Shazia Khan added: "I cannot see him having any enemies who would be so full of hate to do this to him. We don't understand."
