Choir perform love song of late Sir John Tavener

A new love song written by the great classical composer Sir John Tavener, who passed away this week, was performed at Southwark Cathedral in London on Friday evening.

The Three Shakespeare Sonnets masterpiece, which the 69-year-old put the finishing touches to right up until his death, was dedicated to his wife, Marianna, and with her blessing, sung by South Iceland Chamber Choir.

The same group performed Tavener's first pieces of traditional music ten years ago.
