Spoof rock band Spinal Tap to reunite

Spoof rock band Spinal Tap are to reunite in a new "mockumentary" series which will reunite stars of hit movies. The film will bring together Spinal Tap stalwarts Michael McKean and Christopher Guest, who co-wrote and created the series.

Comedy actor Chris O'Dowd is to head the cast of a new BBC series which will reunite the stars of This Is Spinal Tap and Best In Show.

Other names who have featured in their films, such as Fred Willard and Don Lake, have also been cast in the eight-part series.

Family Tree, which is to be screened by BBC2 next year, will also feature actress and ventriloquist Nina Conti.

It follows character Tom Chadwick (O'Dowd) who tries to unravel his family history after inheriting a box of belongings from a relative.
