Man arrested after three stabbed in Birmingham

A man has been arrested after three people, including two teenage girls, were stabbed in a suspected domestic incident.

All three victims are believed to have suffered multiple knife injuries at an address in Small Heath, Birmingham.

A police spokesman said: "Officers arrived at the scene within a matter of minutes and arrested a man in the street and recovered a knife nearby.

"He has been taken to hospital having suffered a minor cut to his hand."

Schoolboy fighting for life after stabbing

A schoolboy has been left fighting for life after being stabbed on a bus.

Police were called just after 3pm to Highbury New Park, north London, after the teen, was knifed on board a route 393 bus.

The young victim was treated at the scene, near the junction of Holmcote Gardens, by paramedics and an air ambulance before being rushed to hospital.

He remains in a critical condition and the road was closed off this afternoon while police carried out investigations. There have been no arrests.

Passers-by gave first aid to the two victims of a double stabbing that happened in Birmingham city centre this evening.

The Ambulance Service say a number of emergency calls were received from members of the public shortly before 6.00pm this evening.

Medics including two doctors and three ambulance crews arrived at the scene to find "excellent first aid being given by police and passers-by".

Both men suffered cardiac arrests despite "advanced life support" given to both victims by medics. The men believed to be in their 40s were pronounced dead at the scene.

One man was arrested minutes after the stabbings, of which police say there were "potentially hundreds of witnesses".

Police say the fatal double stabbing which took place in Birmingham city centre around 6.00pm this evening has "potentially hundreds of witnesses".

Two men who are both thought to be in their 40s, were pronounced dead at the scene after police 'flooded' the area around Martineau Place and Union Street.

One of the victims is believed to have been stabbed outside Martineau Place's Sainsbury's store and the other was found 'slumped' near Boots in Union Street having suffered fatal injuries.

Police say there are potentially hundreds of witnesses as the stabbing happened at a time when the area was busy with shoppers and workers.

One man has been arrested in New Street in connection with the stabbings near to the Odeon cinema minutes later.

Two dead after Birmingham city centre stabbings

Two men have died following a double-stabbing in Birmingham city centre tonight.

Police flooded the area around Martineau Place and Union Street just before 6.00pm.

One of the victims is believed to have been stabbed outside Martineau Place's Sainsbury's store and the other was found 'slumped' near Boots in Union Street having suffered fatal injuries.

"Two men have suffered fatal injuries – these have been inflicted in the heart of the city at a busy time when workers and shoppers would be heading home.

“There are potentially hundreds of witnesses, either people who saw the stabbings or the offender leaving the scene, and I’d urge people to get in touch immediately – they could have vital information.

"A large police presence was quickly on the scene and a man was arrested swiftly.”

Pregnant woman stabbed outside primary school

A pregnant woman is in a serious condition in hospital after she was repeatedly stabbed within the grounds of a primary school.

Emergency services were called to Green Lane in Stoneycroft, Liverpool, at 12.30pm yesterday to reports of a stabbing.

Police found a 28-year-old pregnant woman with multiple stab wounds.

She was taken to hospital and her condition is described as serious but stable.

Police said doctors are also carrying out tests on the woman's unborn baby.
