Friend of missing boy will 'never give up hope'

A friend of 16-year-old Jordan Cobb, who is missing after jumping from a ferry into a river, said she will "never give up hope" that her friend will be found.

Savanah Rich wrote on Facebook: "Never give up hope. I will search day in day out until I find you Jord.

"I have total faith that your (sic) still out there somewhere, hate being depressed, being sick and deprived of sleep but I'm not giving up on you just yet! Love you so much."

Coastguard: Search for teenager who jumped from ferry called off

The search for a teenage boy who is believed to have jumped from a ferry into a river near Plymouth last night has been called off, a spokesman for the Coastguard said.

Jordan Cobb, 16, from Plymouth in Devon was spotted jumping from the Torpoint ferry into the River Tamar last night.

The initial search was called off in the early hours of this morning and resumed later this morning.


Friends pray for boy who jumped from ferry

Friends of a teenager missing after he jumped from a ferry into a river were today hoping he is found alive.

16-year-old Jordan Cobb from Plymouth was spotted jumping from the Torpoint ferry into the River Tamar last night. His friends have taken to social networking sites to pray for his return:

Police: '16-year-old boy is high risk missing person'

We are treating Jordan (Cobb) as a high risk missing person and we are working with the coastguard to try and locate him.

The river was extensively searched by air and sea for several hours, but there remains a possibility that he managed to swim ashore, and I would ask anyone with information to call the police on 101.

Search for boy seen jumping from ferry into River Tamar

A search is under way after a teenage boy jumped from a ferry into a river.

Jordan Cobb, 16, from Plymouth, was spotted jumping from the Torpoint ferry into the River Tamar on New Year's Eve, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Brixham Coastguard received a Mayday distress call from the Torpoint ferry at 9.15pm reporting a man overboard near the ferry's slipway in Torpoint, Cornwall, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said

Police, the coastguard and the RNLI conducted an extensive search for the teenager after he failed to reappear.

Officers are now appealing for information about the incident.
