Crowds gathered today to watch a Good Friday re-enactment of the Passion of Jesus in central London's Trafalgar Square.
Actors from the Wintershall Players, a troupe based in Surrey, played the parts of Jesus and the two robbers crucified alongside him, along with several Roman soldiers.
London Mayor Boris Johnson has today unveiled a sculpture of a blue cockerel on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.
The sculpture, created by German artist Katharina Fritsch, will remain in place for 18 months.

Lord Nelson atop his column in Trafalgar Square has donned a special Union Jack hat, complete with an Olympic torch.
It was created by London's oldest millinery company Lock & Co, which actually made Nelson's original bicorn hat.
