A man found guilty of dangerous driving has been banned from driving for 12 months after he was caught on camera driving with no hands.
North Yorkshire Police’s mobile safety camera shows Richard Newton driving past a safety camera van with both hands on his head. He continues along the road for around 25 seconds driving around 60mph.
A court in Scarborough also ordered Newton to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the community and fined him £625.
A derelict house in Whitby has been sealed off after workmen renovating the building, found a body. North Yorkshire Police say the body appears to have been in the property "for some time." They are treating the death as unexplained.
Police were called to the house in Broomfield Terrace, behind Bagdale, near the town centre, shortly after 2pm on Saturday. Police have released few other details and have not said whether the body is that of a man or a woman.
A number of rumours circulated on social media about the discovery of the body and police have now urged people not to speculate about what has happened.
James Allen, who is 35, is being sought in connection with the murders of 50-year-old Julie Davison, of Whitby, and 81-year-old Colin Dunford, of Middlesbrough, Cleveland Police said.
