Joe McElderry on his role in Corrie musical

A new musical version of the history of Coronation Street is touring the country this summer. Street of Dreams is written by Trisha Ward, from Redcar - and it will star some of the best-loved actors and actresses ever to walk the famous cobbles: from Julie Goodyear (Bet Lynch) to Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts) to Brian Capron (the evil Richard Hillman).

When it arrives in the North East, at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena in May, the show will feature a guest appearance from the South Shields X Factor_ and Popstar to Operastar _winner Joe McElderry. He will sing the finale song.
