Teesside based group The Syren recently won a recording contract in a local talent competition. Now they've released their first single and are giving the proceeds to a local children's hospice.
After winning the Have You Got the X Factor Zoe's Place final at The Arc, Stockton in 2011 the band started recording their debut single.
The final featured ten artists who performed The Journey, a song by Teesside fire fighter and songwriter Ed Parrish.
Hosted by ITV's Pam Royle and featuring a panel of judges from the music industry, The Syren were crowned winners in front of a near sell out crowd.
The Syren are a three piece vocal group featuring Claire, Lucy and Ryan.
Claire was involved in school choirs and talent shows which led to her studying Performing Arts. Lucy has been with other bands and also studied Performing Arts. Ryan won a school talent competition, after that he performed as a solo artist before joining The Syren.
The trio are raising money for Zoë's Place Baby Hospice which helps families with children suffering from life limiting or life threatening conditions.
