More than 1,000 children from 107 schools in Sunderland are taking part in an Olympic torch relay.
The event is funded by the Olympic Organising Committee. It aims to bring some of the excitement of the build up to the games to Wearside and to make sure young people are involved.
Each school has made their own torch which they hand on to the next school in the relay to keep. The event ends on Wednesday on Roker Pier and all of the torches will be on display at Herrington Park in Sunderland on Saturday 16th June.
