Towns and cities in the North East are preparing for the arrival of the Olympic torch relay. Bunting and flags are flying in Alnwick in Northumberland, one of the first big towns the flame will reach on its journey south from the Scottish Borders.
Organisers are urging people to come and see the torch bearers - whatever the weather. A special outdoor concert of music and dance is taking place in the pastures behind Alnwick Castle on Thursday evening. The 12,000 tickets for the event were snapped up within nine hours of becoming available.
- WEATHER OUTLOOK:
- dry with a few bright spells
- just the chance of the odd light shower.
- May need a jacket - not that warm temps at best 14 or 15C.
- Dry for the concert tomorrow night at Alnwick.
