Olympians arrive on Quayside for Great North City Games

Mo Farah, Greg Rutherford and Team USA's Christian Taylor are just some of the famous faces taking part in a day of athletics in Gateshead, linked to the Great North Run.

The Great North City Games have been held for five years on the Quayside, and this year's event has attracted Olympians from both sides of the Atlantic.

The schedule begins at 1245, with different off-shoots of the Great North Run before that in the morning:

  • 0910 Great North Run 5k
  • 1030 Great North Mini Run
  • 1245 Pole vault - women
  • 1306 2 mile race - men
  • 1309 Long jump - men
  • 1324 110m hurdles - men
  • 1330 1 mile race - women
  • 1342 100m race - women
  • 1348 1 mile race - men
  • 1403 100m race - men
  • 1415 50m race - women
  • 1421 150 race - men
