Businesses call for end to 'employment tax'

Businesses in the region want the government to cut employers' National Insurance contributions to help them create jobs, according to an exclusive ITV survey.

Firms were asked what one thing government could do to help their business. The most popular answers were cuts to tax and bureaucracy.

The software firm and ITV Business Club member Sage surveyed 758 of its business customers around the country. It found:

  • 81% have 'no confidence' in George Osborne
  • Only 9% say they're 'impressed' with the government's handling of the economy
  • Just 19% believe the UK in 2012 is a 'good place to do business'
