Plans for a suspension bridge over the River Tees revealed

A £1.3 million suspension bridge has been proposed as part of Barnard Castle's regeneration plan.

If given the go ahead, it will be the longest of its kind in the UK measuring 265 metres.

There are hopes that the bridge will boost the economy by attracting an estimated 65,000 visitors to the River Tees every year.
