Middlesbrough go third after three straight wins

Middlesbrough have risen to third place in the Championship table after last night's 2-0 win over Hull City at the Riverside.

Faris Haroun gave Boro a second-half lead, before Ismael Miller doubled their advantage with his first goal for the club. The victory was Middlesbrough's third in a row, making it a successful October for Tony Mowbray's side.

Speaking after the match, Mowbray said: "At the moment we're just trying to edge our points total up, winning football matches, and tonight we got another three. So we're delighted with that."

Middlesbrough are back in league action this weekend at home to Bolton. The match is expected to be Dougie Freedman's first game in charge of the visitors after replacing Owen Coyle.
