Six ships from around Europe are docking into the River Tyne at Spillers Wharf in Newcastle this weekend and will be opening their doors to the public.
A total of seven NATO navies contribute to NATO's standing response force - with Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway providing ships for the force.
The forces have been training to improve their mine-hunting skills just off the UK.
The ships will be open to the public from midday to 3 pm on both Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th October.
The Tyne is still a favourite destination for visiting navies, and the men and women of the task group are looking forward to their weekend visit to Newcastle and Gateshead.
– Lieutenant Bart Cordy, Logistics Officer
The coastline offers a great number of wrecks and contacts for us to investigate, so this area gives us the best of both worlds, good training opportunities and a chance to visit one of our favourite ports, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
