Two people arrested after woman's dies in A688 crash
A man has been arrested after his wife died in a crash involving three vehicles in County Durham.
Alison Reay, 39, from Stanley, was a passenger on a motorbike, which officers say hit a traffic island on the A688 near Bowburn. The bike then collided with a milk tanker and a van.
Her 51-year-old husband has been bailed, as has the tanker driver, after they were both arrested and questioned on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
The accident happened just after 7:30pm on Thursday evening.
