An extra £1.5 million has been secured towards an ambitious leisure, business support and community facility in the heart of Redcar.
The money, from the European Regional Development Fund, will go towards a business centre and office space, designed to encourage new companies and small enterprises to the town.
It forms part of the wider Redcar Leisure and Community Heart scheme, which includes a six lane swimming pool, dance hall and sports centre.
– Cllr Mark Hannon, Cabinet Member for Economic Development
"The business space at the Redcar Leisure and Community Heart is a key part of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council's Regeneration plan to create 610 new businesses in the Borough.
"Securing this additional funding is great news for the project and takes the overall funding accessed by the Council to date from this fund to over £7 million."
