Magpies looking to bounce back after defeats

Newcastle United travel to Stoke this evening looking to end a run of three straight league defeats.

The Magpies have lost each of their last three matches against West Ham, Swansea City and Southampton. The results have seen them slip to 14th in the Premier League table.

Speaking ahead of tonight's match at the Britannia Stadium, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew said: "We've got some improving to do here. We make no mistake about that. Not just myself and my coaching team, but my players too.

"We're conscious that we need to get a couple of results real quick."

TEAM NEWS

Newcastle could be without midfielder Yohan Cabaye until February. The France international has a groin injury and is expected to be unavailable for the next six to eight weeks.

Meanwhile, defender Steven Taylor has a hamstring problem and is also out. Although his absence has been boosted by the return of his defensive partner Fabricio Coloccini. The Argentine has been suspended since his sending off against Liverpool earlier this month but should return to face the Potters.
