An inquest into the deaths of the Horden shootings in County Durham is starting today.
On New Year's day 2012 gunman Michael Atherton killed his partner as well as two other members of her family - before killing himself.
The inquest being held in Crook will look at the circumstances of the deaths.
The victims' family have been talking about what this inquest means to them.
An Independent Police Complaints Commission report has already looked into the decision of Durham Police to award a firearms licence to Atherton and has been critical of the checks that were made.
