Sunderland boss would relish prospect of Mourinho battle

Sunderland head coach Paolo Di Canio says "it would fantastic" if Jose Mourinho returned to manage in the Barclays Premier League.

The Real Madrid boss has made no secret of his desire to return to England at some point, with reports suggesting he could leave the Santiago Bernabeu as early as this summer. In recent months the Portuguese manager has been heavily linked with a return to his former club Chelsea.

Di Canio, who interviewed Mourinho during his time as an Italian television pundit, says he would relish the opportunity to face the 'Special One" should he return to the Premier League. He said:

"He is the 'Special One'. So it would be fantastic.

"A few years ago I used to give questions to him because I used to work in television and ask him questions about the game.

"So imagine myself with Sunderland and trying to go to Chelsea and win against them. It would be a fantastic moment for everybody, also for myself."
