Megan Atkinson specialises in swimming, but at the World Dwarf Games, she also competed in javelin, discus, badminton, sprinting and football! She won medals in 12 events - and she is only 12 years old.
The schoolgirl from Peterlee, in County Durham, accepted donations from benefactors all over the world to pay for her trip to the contest at Michigan in the USA. It was one of the first times she has competed against athletes her own height, rather than classmates of average height or taller athletes who are disabled in different ways.
Next, she hopes she could reach the Paralympics, like her hero Ellie Simmonds, who has four gold medals.
Lucy Taylor reports.
Meanwhile, another athlete from County Durham, Mark Swan, also won five medals at the World Dwarf Games.
